About this image:
Created to commission in 1995, this 14kt cast yellow gold ring features a stunning eleven carat amethyst. Inspiration for this piece came from the client's name which, historically, is derived from the Ancient Egyptian Sh.sh.n. meaning "lotus blossom" and is pronounced Shushen. I used a stylization of the lotus capital employed in Ancient Egyptian architecture to support the gemstone.
