Created in 2010 for the exhibition, ANIMA MOTRIX: Motive Spirit, this JDZ Fragment Brooch, from a series of five, incorporates a ceramic form made while on a residency at The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China.

A series of forms were developed through a material exploration of heat-shrink tubing and slip-cast porcelain. My intent was to retain some sense of the material's nature as well as its historical preciousness. The succesful form was later mounted in an oxidized Sterling silver brooch.
