Created in 2004, this piece, entitled Aurora, features a 24kt gold lustred surface on multifired ceramic wall piece.

First exhibited at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art in Sapporo, Japan, when lit strongly it threw an arc of light over ten feet high.

Conceived as a drawing in light and shadow, the reflected light effects and the intensification of colour in the lustred surfaces, through a compounding of the reflections, are seen as tools in an ongoing re-examination of both the function and the functionality of sculptural ceramic objects.
